Project description: Project was completed. The aim of the project is to popularize the game of chess as a tool supporting the development of children and youth in many aspects. The solution we want to propose is the creation of the Children’s Visegrad Chess League to promote this discipline among young people, parents, teachers and other groups of recipients in the Visegrad Countries and Serbia. We want to point out the benefits that have a positive impact on the development and upbringing of a young person, i.e. the ability to solve problems and logical thinking, developing imagination. In addition, the task of the project is to show this discipline as one of the elements of education and an alternative way of spending free time by young people, for whom the computer and the Internet are one of the basic activities nowadays. Chess has become a common element connecting organizations from Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Serbia. As part of the project, three tournaments will be organized in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia with participants from the V4 countries and Serbia. In addition, a film promoting the project will be developed.

Implementation: Chess tournaments for young chess players in Jastrzębie Zdrój PL, Čadca SK, Orlova CZ. Final round together with a stay for children chess players in Zakopane.

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
